Australia’s desolate self-delusional denialists

“Desolation row” sang Bob Dylan, hyperbolically. The Federal Government’s industrial relations and national security legislation is leading to the Howard fascist police state, apparently.

Let’s face it. Some aspire to fascism. Others have fascism thrust upon them. So to speak. The problem with the cases being put by the Government’s critics is that they might turn out to be incorrect, which can be counterproductive. A dose of silence is called for. Unfortunately, silencing loquacious leftist luvvies is seldom an easy task.

The fact is that Australia’s current commitment to microeconomic reform is consistent with over two centuries of Australian economic policy. The predictable leftist interpretation fails to realise the fact that nothing ever changes very much in Australia. If this wasn’t true, obviously everything would be different. Clearly, everything isn’t different. This won’t come as a surprise to most of us.

To be sure, the Prime Minister is known throughout the world, but it is a cliche to say that there is no causal link between profile and influence. It’s politics 101 that no-one exercises power in Australia. If this wasn’t true, what would be the point of having a Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet? This isn’t rocket science.

The only true fascism was the political movement which ruled Italy from 1922 to 1943 under the leadership of Benito Mussolini (1883-1945). Unlike the majority of voters at the last federal election (2004) and Tony Blair, today’s alienated and self-important luvvies have overlooked the facts that this is Australia in 2005 and we are ruled by a political movement under the leadership of John Howard.

It’s called denial. Really.

I rather liked the first two paragraphs, actually.

What was wrong with the rest of it James? You must be a paid up member of the John Pilger Fan Club.

Far be it for you to respond to a newly minted admirer Hendo but did you ever see some talk about you being a Shorter Hendo, did you suffer some thing which cut you off at the knees?

    no-one listens to Bob Dylan.

You have to listen to John williamson

Mr Perlesford, the so-called “Shorter Hendo” was heavily into hyperbole, not to mention conspiracy theories. So it came as no surprise to find that leftists are so humourless as to not realise my weekly column has always been a big ongoing joke. This proves the majority of Australians got it right at the last election.

Mr Bring Back EP, of course. Needless to say, I repeat a quote from Mr Dylan at least once each year only to throw hyberbolic leftists. Think of it like my annual repeat column softly in favour of the Prime Minister being more compassionate to refugees, and my other repeat annual column criticising Liberal tactics, both of which give me more opportunities to repeat my columns against one-time Labor leader, the hugely hyperbolic and mentally diseased conspiracy theorist, Dr Bert (”The Doc”) Evatt (1894-1965). That I have held my SMH column despite never saying anything original ever, and never saying anything even different since 1872, proves that, unlike hyperbolic leftists, the majority of Australian voters got it right at the last federal election (2004).

All I know is, anyone who isn’t permanently shitting their pants with fear is ….. IN DENIAL!

Mr Bring Back EP, can I also point out that Hendo is just following in the light path of luminaries such as Imre Saluzinsky, who have been particularly adroit at using their superior understanding of pop culture to expose the sham that is lefty ‘thought’? (adroit, now, that’s a lovely word).

‘adroit’ is rather hyperbolic, Mrs Albrecht-Devine.
