LP is about to move. Some comments will be lost, so if you desperately, desperately want to keep anything you post from now on, save a copy for your own records. I’m just ironing out a few wrinkles (gravatars, to be precise…) and the new site will go live as soon as I’m done.
Update: Touchdown. Please update your bookmarks — http://larvatusprodeo.net/ is the new address. (No need to update links from your blogs, however, as a bit of mod_rewrite magic should redirect readers to the correct place.) Gravatars aren’t quite fixed yet, but hopefully will be soon, and if you notice anything else that’s broken please let me know in the comments thread.

Three cheers for Rob!
Don’t be silly, Amanda…
Well you know, many times I’ve silently (and out loud) cursed this bleedin’ website when it took a million hours to load so now I’m feeling guilty for being an ingrate and trying to atone for it. All the Catholics round here must be rubbing off on me …
Good job, Rob.
If you use phpMyAdmin, how did you manage to overcome the 2MB limit on database restores? Did you break the db down in a number of files or use something like BigDump?
phpMyAdmin doesn’t necessarily have a 2MB limit. It depends how it’s been set up — the host we’re using has a 5MB limit. But it was ~28MB, so I broke it down manually. BigDump looks handy for future reference, though, so thanks!
[bows obsequiously, again]
We Are Not Worthy! We Are Not Worthy!
Rob – if you scroll down the front page, a few of the posts oddly seem to have commas replaced by question marks in the text.
Yep. It’s caused by different character encoding on the new database. I should be able to do a global search/replace early this week.
rob – The nostalgic theme doesn’t work anymore. I prefere that as it’s easier on my eyes. Also what happenned to kate’s LP poll ?
Thanks for bringing that to my attention, ivap; it should be working again now.
The imminent move should be changed to eminent move.
Ahh loads like a normal website. Did you mention who is doing the hosting? and who was hosting previously? I think I mentioned before that I have used Smartyhost for a few domains and sites and found them good.
