Your specially priced LP subscription to Crikey!

Crikey is a wonderful Australian institution - not least because it nominated Troppo Armadillo as their blog of 2005 and LP as one of their favourites!

A sucker for good quality, independent media and flattery like that to boot I was just filling out the on line form inviting me to subscribe when I read that there are bulk discounts.

  • 3-5 annual subscriptions: $70 each – save 30%
  • 6-9 annual subscriptions: $60 each – save 40%
  • 10-20 annual subscriptions: $50 each – save 50%
  • 20-49 annual subscriptions: $40 each – save 60%
  • 50+ annual subscriptions: $35 each – save 65%
  • So if we can get 2 or 5 or 9 more people to sign up with me, we can save some money! Please record your request below, and email me on nicholas AT gruen DOT com DOT au if you’re interested. The base price is $100 per year.

With at least 4 others, I’m in.

      I am in…

I can’t afford the full subscription right now and my previous subscription ran out in December - withdrawal symptoms; so if there are enough people signing up I’d like to join in too [if the people at Crikey go along with it, that is. Have you run it past them yet?].

Why would you bother? Since SM sold out its just another cheap, biased internet rag..I left my sub run out in December and be searching for replacement ever since. In the meantime if I want to see what the left is thinking (?) I can duck in here.

On your way out, Russ, don’t forget to tip the same amount of money as a crikey subscription into the Paypal jar :)

Nicholas, I understand that Crikey provides free subscriptions to selected bloggers as part of their marketing strategy. I imagine as their award winner, you’d be able to twist their arm - of course, that doesn’t help anyone else.

Nah, flattered you ask, I pay for mine. It’s deductible.

I really love magazines that give free subs to selected bloggers as part of their marketing strategies. So public-spirited! Not looking at anyone in particular, certainly not the London Review of Books.

      As you were.

      Crikey lies.

    9. 9 MarkNo Gravatar

Well, it’s funnier than John Birmingham has been recently!

      [Disclosure - I get the freebie…]

Get 10, and I’m definitely in. Up to 9, and it might take some convincing. 5 and less, and I’m iffy, but maaaaaaaaaybe. 10!

I’d pay for ‘lies’ any day.

Two words for lil’t the cheerleader: bitter.

      I’m in as well.

    13. 13 PhilNo Gravatar

I’m in as well Nicholas, my sub expires soon and a solo is a bit rich for me at the moment, but a discounted rate for “lies” is my cup of tea.

    14. 14 rbNo Gravatar

I’m in too, especially if there’s over 10.

Actually Mark, That is a fair point..of course I would expect due acknowledgement.. stand by

      “Crikey lies.”

And each time it does, a turkey dies.

Actually little tim’s in a good position to point out that the media is sometimes lacking in veracity, having previously worked for ‘Truth’ and “The Daily Terrorgraph.”

I would be in, but I think Crikey is far too right wing, biased and inconsistent.

Free is too much to pay.

    18. 18 JohnnoNo Gravatar

Hard to resist a good discount - I’ll be in.

My wife paid my subscription for my Xmas present. Got extra goodies as part of a Xmas subscription promotion.
Intrigued by those who think Crikey is left or right biased, tells lies etc. How do they know if they are not subscribers. I find it adds to the “unbiased” comment in the mainstream media.

      I too am in.
