Danish Cartoon Furore: Links post

Well, we had our weekend discussion of the Danish cartoons and their aftermath here, and have no immediate plans to revisit the issue because it was thrashed out comprehensively (and for that reason there’s no comments on this post), but here’s a roundup of blogosphere commentary, as suggested at stoush.net. Tim Blair has published the actual cartoons, and his site’s cranking under the pressure of increased traffic. Tim Dunlop uses remarks by German Chancellor Angela Merkel as a hook for his piece, while Andrew Bartlett suggests that stigmatising all Muslims displays the same intolerance as violent protest. At Troppo, Rafe quotes Hayek, while C.L. echoes Michelle Malkin. saint has a number of posts, of which this one is representative of his approach. Anonymous Lefty thinks “right wing blogs… are, for once, fairly on the money” on this issue (and Jason at Catallaxy agrees with Mr Lefty’s take), and Guido makes the comparison with a controversial American cartoon. Armaniac thinks this is a “watershed issue for the left”, while Guy at wsacaucus.org though condemning the protests, thinks the initial publication of the cartoons was needlessly provocative. On a cartoon related note, Gianna wonders about what attacks on Leunig might say about some bloggers’ priorities. No doubt there are more posts out there, but I’ll leave you to find them yourself.
