MY COMMENTS HAVE BEEN SENT TO PAPERS AND rarely EVER PUBLISHED IN THE WEST AUSTRALIAN and never in SMH.
Dan Vaile is a brave lady who must be a Chrisitian after getting all this flack.
It is an accepted thing in Australia to knock, mock, hate and vilify Christians and Bible Bashers as they call them..Tony Abbott is attacked because he is a follower of Christ no other reason.
He has guts and fortitude beacause in Australia you either stick to your Christian beliefs or you run like a rabbit and get accpetance back into our secular humanistic, hedonistic drowning society of sickoes.Dana never give uo Tony too.

I don’t believe for a second that they wouldn’t publish wisdom like this.

Alfred, get back to the Batcave, I need you to change a flat tire.

I’d like to take this opportunity to apologise to the West Australian newspaper for thinking that they published any old piece of loopy christian fundamentalist hate rant that popped in their Editor’s mailbox.

I know I’m gonna regret this, but I’m a glutton for punishment and I’ve never had good self control.

Dana may be all manner of nasty, brutish things, and the way she said it may have been stupidly clumsy and hamfisted, but could she also be right?

And, while you’re at it and in the mood – you may have read it already, or seen the author’s name and just not bothered, but this may also be worth some consideration, and also perhaps this.

    Or not – you decide.

    Tony
My response as a liberal respective of individual preferences is even if her prediction is true (something which I must hasten to add, I give a very low likelihood to), who gives a damned?? If in the unlikely event that every offspring of a Muslim decided that they wanted to continue as Muslims, for generation for generation after generation, and non Muslims for generation after generation decided they didn’t want to have too many children, well, them’s the breaks …

Quite right Jason – and the western way of life offers such a seductive mixture of pleasures & delights (including this sensational Eden Valley white) that I think it’s well-nigh inevitable that future generations of Muslims will abandon ship and join the rest of us in the liberal concensus.

But you’ve just also offered a ringing endorsement of the libertarian (as opposed to liberal) view that the future should look after itself, let the kids sort it out, it’ll work itself out in the wash, cut down them forests, pass the roasted passenger pigeon. And there’s not many of us prepared to truly say we believe that – even the most hardened RWDB and disciple of Ayn Rand would like to think we can make things better. Which condemns us to look to the future and try to act to influence it.

So Danna & Bob Brown are really cousins under the skin, and her thesis is at least as likely as Bob’s.

My view? Seeing as how this was the week of New Testament quotations, I’ll give you another one – “The meek shall inherit the earth”. The meek being, it would seem, those who ignore the siren calls of the consumer society and have children – because they’ll be the only ones left…

There are currently 300000 Muslims in Australia or 1.5% of the population. Do the math, Tony.

What Jason said — and in the meantime, whence this utterly bizarre delusion people seem to be under that both Islam (as in ‘Oh dear, we’ll be overrun by Muslims’) and conservatism (as in ‘Ha ha, we will outbreed you’) are inherited conditions?

Oh goodie! Tony is quoting the Bible. Let me put forward a couple of quotations that shed light on the Christian perspective on women’s rights including reproductive rights:

1 Peter 3:1 “Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands.”

1 Timothy 2:11-15 “Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.”

Ephesians 5:22-24 “Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.”

I will not quote the Bible, I will not quote the Bible, I will not quote the Bible… 996 times later, chalk running low, weak knees…I will not quote the Bible.

And I won’t do the math (maybe tomorrow) but I will note the great thing about demographics – it’s all compounding interest, lines with opposite slopes, and time. And the same sort of assumptions used in climate models. Like them, maybe it’s a crock, and maybe it’s not.

And the meek aren’t Muslims, they’re just… well… the meek.
