Oh Noodly Day!

Alas, being ahead of the US means that I did not receive this very important email until it was too late to wear my pirate regalia to commemorate this very important day.

For the long-awaited day has arrived: The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is available to purchase. As the Prophet Bobby Henderson sayeth: “Maybe not inscribed on stone tablets, but it is a book. And maybe not THE Good Book, but at least A Good Book.

Within these pages, Bobby Henderson outlines the true facts – dispelling such malicious myths as evolution (“only a theory), science (“only a lot of theories), and whether we’re really descended from apes (fact: Humans share 95 percent of their DNA with chimpanzees, but they share 99.9 percent with pirates!)

For those who are not aware of Pastafarianism, you can learn more about this growing religion here. The Prophet Bobby Henderson is working hard to spread the word; and to ensure that school children are taught all versions of Intelligent Design Theory.

Wear something piratey and touch His Noodly Appendage today.

Ramen.

I hear the Flying Spaghetti Monster and the Invisible Pink Unicorn have got a thing going. Or was that the Great Cat Maeve? I’m sure someone told me last Tuesday, anyway - or maybe it was Wednesday.

May Her Flashing Hooves/His Noodly Appendage/Her Mighty Paw watch over you all.

Who is this Great Cat Maeve of whom you speak? You interest me strangely.

    Arrr.

Sorry me bucko - that should have been the Great Queen Maeve the Housecat, and I heard about the FSM and the IPU getting it onLast Thursday, not Last Tuesday shiver me timbers.

    Pasafarians!

Wouldn’t be good if enough people put that under ‘Religion’ in this year’s Census so that the ABS has to put it in a category of its own rather than into ‘Others?’

    Guido, I think that’s a marvellous idea.

*stares at recalcitrant link, waves cutlass*

Queen Maeve the Housecat will judge us all on Thursday, Pavlov’s Cat, just like she did Last Thursday.

May the GFSM-Farce Be With You!

Had I not seen with my own eyes that graph showing the relationship between the number of pirates and global warming, I would never have believed it possible. The simplicity of it all! It’s so crystal clear. The figures do indeed speak for themselves. Henderson is brilliant.

(One thing though: given the nasty behavior of real pirates, I’m glad I’m descended hairy stone-chucking ape-like hominids and not from pirates).

Do read the FSM’s hate mail page http://www.venganza.org/email_neg.htm heh

For a less amusing slant on this issue:

Unfortunately, Scientology has taught us the following: what starts out as an hilarious joke eventually gets taken seriously.

Give it a few hundred years and there’ll really be a church of FSM…
