Crack open the bubbly!

It’s very exciting to announce to LP’s readers that a new Australian literary/book blog has opened for business. LP’s own Laura and Georg are among the contributors, and many of the others are LP’s friends. I’m sure Sarsaparilla will fulfil its remit, and I’m sure it will become a compulsory stop on many people’s blog rounds!

    Congratulations, Sarsaparilla folks!

Just had a peek over there, and it looks great. Good luck to you all with it!

[One design quibble... the typeface for the comments section is awfully small, and it makes multi-para comments very hard to read. (And I'm a person with very good eyesight.)]

May you have long life, and ten thousand engrossing literary feuds!

Thanks, j_p_z – and thanks Mark for the great plug!

No worries, Laura! It’s already become a thing of fabulosity! And a very nicely designed blog into the bargain…

    “Sarsaparilla”?

Not a nod to that awful old writer Patrick White? As has been pointed out by better people than me, his work is like posh golf links. Swathes of picturesque scenery interrupted by occasional outbursts of snobbery.

I suppose I should shift this kinda arty barney over to Sarspi?

Interesting debate already about what counts as “culture”.
