What I haven't seen yet, surprisingly enough, are bumper stickers reading <em>"I'm blonde and I vote"</em>.

Once again, no proper opposition up north.

For the first time since the election was announced I travelled to work via a bus route which goes from Garden City shopping centre via Upper Mount Gravatt to Nathan campus. Upper Mount Gravatt is in the State seats of Mount Gravatt and Mansfield, and the Federal seat of Moreton, which are classic "swing seats" in State and Federal elections where the result is up for grabs. The Labor Party has placed two large billboards depicting Premier Beattie with the sitting members for each of the two seats on the corner of Logan Road and Mt Gravatt-Capalaba Road (the main intersection in the suburb) and a billboard depicting the two members just outside the local football ground. This effort is not being matched by the Liberals. Either the Liberal organisation has calculated that billboards aren't a cost-effective campaign tactic, or they're not expecting to be competitive in these seats this time around - which would basically mean they've conceded the election to Labor.
