I usually vote Labour, but this time I am considering the Greens, <strike>mainly to irritate my husband</strike> but I am fairly confident that the Nationals have it sewn up in Burrinjuck. There is a Country Labour candidate but she has almost no profile barring a couple of posters around town and she didn't even bother to turn up to the local Show last weekend, which is where I met the Greens candidate. So I will probably vote for the Greens candidate for the Lower House, and am still considering my options for the Upper. I have to say that Lee Rhiannon tends to leave me a bit cold. I don't think there will be any significant swings, but I could be wrong. The local member is an independent who is actually decent (i.e. not just a cast off from the National party, he's a cast off from the Labor party :-) I think I'll end up casting a vote from him for the lower house. It is notable in this electorate (upper Hunter) that the ALP appears from pre-polling to be running dead. This could help the Green vote, though 'king coal' has taken a hit from the Greens and many may withhold second preferencing them. A National win in a field of three.
