Libertarian punters’ corner

In race one at Randwick tomorrow, there is a hot tip for horse number 5, named Umpire Bird. Just sayin’…

    Interesting.

So, who’s behind the running of number 3 in the same race, Magenta Light.

Unfortunately, Umpire Bird has shown a tendency to pigroot.

Perhaps his connections should consider fitting him with a pacifier.

Katz, is that an intentional double entendre?

Slightly off topic: my pc/internet went down for a few days just about the time there as a scramble to back Birdie for Libertarian Blogger of the Year or some such. Can anyone tell me how he fared in that?

Sorry to burst a bubble – but, as Jason Soon and others have pointed out ad nauseumthe Bird is not a libertarian.
BTW – Andrew Norton won – in his case a self-proclaimed non-libertarian. If I put another link in it will spam me, so you can click through to the poll results yourself from the other link if you want.

Loved the language of the steward’s report from Umpire Birdie’s last race. Stewards reported:

He laid in soon after straightening

Think that Zac Purton should have laid him out.

It’s a pretty ordinary looking bunch of horseflesh that will probably end up as dogfood if they don’t show a bit of improvement.

A racehorse who veers to the right after straightening. Well named I’d have thought.

Presumably this horse is named after ‘Dickie’ Bird, the most famous cricket umpire of modern times.

Hope they leave the lights on at Randwick tonight so that Umpire bird and Zac Purton can find their way to the finishing post.

Graeme Bird is not a joke. He is to be taken seriously.
