Øne rule he obviously doesn’t understand. If you use your own name on a blog, you always have to stand by what you say or it can be used against you in all sorts of surprising places.

He, for instance, will have an interesting experience if he ever applies for a job where the boss is a woman.

If he tries to work for a woman in politics, he is likely to get an interview just so she can tread on his head.

If the quoted lines were all Hamish had said I doubt they would have dumped him for that. However, I think it would have taken them 5 seconds to realise that this was the tip of the iceberg. The Age had some more choice quotes today, and I will guarantee there was enough out there for the papers to have fun for weeks.

Basically in these cases what is needed is enough to get journalists interested enough to spend their time digging. These quotes did the trick, and while I’m sure the Libs would have felt they could ride these out, they would not have wanted the ongoing stream of dirt it would have led to.

TimT, its worth noting that Landeryou’s loyalty is pretty selective. The Libs who assisted him and his mates plundering the union will get defended to an extent, but if there is good dirt he’s happy to run it.

I saw that story about Hamish about noon yesterday in my yahoo email. When I looked on Yahoo’s News site later and tried to find it, it had disappeared – Landeryou seems to be on the ball here.

A while ago Landeryou did a post about allegations Hamish was involved in a Coburg branch stack, which you’d imagine he’d want to hush up if they were friends.

Uh, actually as I gather from my Gen X siblings I’m pretty sure there’s a ‘u’ and ‘h’ in there and its not a particularly PC term.

But I digress, if Hamish is indeed a university Liberal, i’d like to share the short story of postering the Menzies building at Monash university and eventually noticing a toad like creature following me almost to the top floor, at which point I turned around and stared menacingly, and he appeared to both void his pants and tumble backwards down the escalators at he same time…ah, …

…smells like victory!

Hamish is indeed a Melbourne Uni Liberal.

And given that Hamish was involved in Mr. Landeryou’s thwarted attempts to defraud the Melbourne Uni student union out of millions of dollars, methinks Andy’s defence of Hamish should be taken with a grain of salt.

Sorry, but Kosky is a state minister and Jones was a federal candidate. It may well be the Libs' current tactic to deflect attention from their own failings by attacking the states, but really this issue has nothing to do with him as a candidate for a House of Reps seat.

Hamish should have at least tied his ‘withdrawl’ from the Federal seat to a future senate spot. The guy’s a winner but he should nail his campaign manager quick smart.

Hamish is welcome here* any time,you can go on about attacking a Labor woman by language unsuitable for parliamentarians,but the question that should be asked did he represent the problem of commuters well.Yes! Using the short answer as question,and Kosky was not interested in the problem,when the best way to get a commonly occuring problem fixed is to a Ministers office.They are supposed to represent no matter how much money they receive.And from that language it doesnt seem to be a complete hostility to women,after all they are commuters..wether he is handsome or Kosky getting old cranky,and not willing to work a beauty no doubt internally in the eyes of the beholder.Besides he was taliking in code.B-i-t-c-h like barbie Q galores in West Australia,werent you Hamish!?Come on tell the truth!Whats it really mean..Iam sure if you dont answer quick the posters here will overwork the site,and all the bloody papers will have screaming headlines…………………*Tyringham N.S.W.

When I saw the photo I thought he looked just like your typical Liberal/right-wing ALP student politics hack. The species is noted for its misogyny, cynicism and stupidity and for a sort of negative charisma. Now I hear (via this thread) that he hails from the Melbourne Uni Liberals.
I hereby, then – in the spirit of those mischevious souls who stacked an AGM of the Monash Uni Tories in the ’70s and renamed the club the “Monash University Liberal Club (Marxist-Leninist)” – offer myself up as a Liberal (Trotskysist) candidate for Maribyrnong. I am a local. I have never worn a sombrero. And my views, though extreme, are surely less so than the candidate originally preselected for Cook.
