Yes, folks, it’s true. Wayne Swan will hold his seat and even get a swing of 10%, according to fascinating Galaxy polling in the Brisbane Sunday Mail today. There’s a lot of speculation over on The Poll Bludger’s thread as to the motivations for News Ltd tabloid polling in Labor seats (Kate Ellis is also romping it in in Adelaide, according to Galaxy) – are they trying to suggest that all the swing is tied up in Labor territory? Who knows? The Galaxy poll in Queensland taken in the first week led to a media narrative that Labor weren’t doing fabulously in the Sunshine State – based on the completely invalid extrapolation of the swing in that poll to the state as a whole. Somehow, I doubt we’ll see the same leap made in commentary on this one – though if it were, they’d have to be reporting that Labor would win 13 seats in Queensland.
Anyway, as several commenters at The Poll Bludger have realised, it’s probably more interesting to discuss the musical merits of Swannie’s daughter Erinn’s band, Nina May. Not bad at all, I reckon!

The band sounds very good. She is a great singer. Maybe “Nina May” could be the band at the ALP campaign opener with a guest appearance by Mr Follically Challenged. That would get the tongues wagging.
Family First will be upset though that one of the band said “f*ck off” in the interview clip – does this constitute “internet pr0n”?

I think she’s got an excellent voice. Might go see the next gig in Brisneyland.
Dangerous suggestions of bi-sexuality there, as well.
This family is suitably disgusted as you might expect, Mark.
Trouble for FF dealing with that pron and the nudegate scandal, though.

Otherwise engaged, perhaps.
If it is deemed as work under the tax Act like the other workers of this nation, should be subject to un- announced drug tests!? Perhaps she should practice diaphragmatic breathing, and find a empty country house timber, with little furniture and wait for the thunderstorm season and heavy rainfall,to project voice without the addiction to often badly chosen microphone where the musical accompanient hasnt quite got it right, relying entirely on the wall of noise, rather than the good sense, of creating regular but hard to pick when holes in the wall of noise.Good musical skills including extending the range of vocals and intensity discover how they play in the dynamics of natural settings. So I cannot spell today, weather is closing in,if I pitch myself to win some sort of acclaim from now two members of the somebody family,I hope my pitch doesnt flab out when times get serious, and the music isnt about. Down by the echo chamber, next to the recording of me as the world s loudest cane toad out in the natural means, I lost my ambition to sing, for money doesnt come easy as easy as I could, as song writer dream. Left the echo to frighten any undue developments in natures toads, found my foot tapping I found my own code. Thus the ode code and toad will be appearing as a golden vocal lode, when all the she devils, frighten themselves into angels,to have the artificially contrived meet the circumstance of the jumping alive. Thunderclap Toad, in meditation, waiting for the rain on the roofs of this nation.Man.Alive… he is like a radio station, cannot find his way around no more, the sound proofing is not the fellows flaw, but seeking time to tap, whilst everyone knows his tap, the soulful old pretender under the tank. The rearga..ard action coming in first with a Bankers thanks. And in a crying tone, almost in complete breaking down, My glass of wine at this good time just doesnt sound operatic, can you pass me something weaker because I am getting erratic.Which is both chorus and the hidden end of the echo as sound wherever you find such.
Mark: there are musos and there are Musos and Nina May are among the later grouping. The next gig’s on the 3rd of November at the Jubilee. Interested in coming along?
Yeah, thinking about going, Down and Out.
As a Bennelong resident, can I just say that I’m glad someone else is getting polled for a change.
Secondly, if you were a Coalition spinner right now you’d be asserting that the Labor vote is soft and blasting the meeja for not “ignoring this”. This poll is a nod and a wink to those people: enough with that crap, it’s not working either.
The poll bodes ill for the Libs. When Queensland swings against a government, it does so viciously.
Of course Labor’s going to win Lilley! Was there ever any real doubt?

I find this poll in the Australian amazing
Who would have thought so many Australian readers were left wing fanatical union thugs intent on destroying Australia!!!!
something like a 63% lead to Labor
Doug, I don’t think the print copy comes with the interactive features.
Labor supporters clearly hate the mainstream media because they refuse to buy the print copy of The Australian, sponging off the charity of NewsCorp who provide it online. Also, I hear the ACTU has a website!

At one stage I’d managed to have the Greens at 100% of the vote in my postcode on that one. For the last few days , though, we’ve had Labour in front on 50% and the Libs and the Greens on 25% each. All it would take would be one more vote for the Greens to be level with Labour, and the Libs languishing in last spot! Looks like there are only 4 people in my neck of the woods who are willing to cast a vote though.
Erinn has a band. How about that. The things you learn on LP instead of through the party. Ha.
Cool: Lilley’s my electorate. Now there’s no need to go out at all and I can keep my November 24th free.
-PHEW THAT WAS CLOSE-
Anyone else here in Lilley? Kim is, I am. Derek from Woolly Days is.
I used to live in Lilley! Voted for Wayne Swan for preselection…
