Thanks, Casey. Quite a thread there! It’s taken most of my afternoon reading it and following up on the leads which are fascinating in themselves, to say nothing of the comments from all those I now know as the usual suspects! (I really enjoyed that collection of Keating quotes!) If only I’d been tuned in to Saturday Salon at that time I’d have understood a lot more about you all a lot sooner!

I’d come to LP for the first time during the Federal election campaign because of a linked comment on Nicole Cornes, who by the way is in the news again in South Australia with a new job (Nicole Cornes to advise minister) and much adverse commentary very similar to that which caused discussion here. She certainly has staying power.

Coming back to the here and now in WA I was struck by Charlene’s likeness to Adele Carles and her general self presentation. A role model perhaps? And that song! Maybe she got caught up in the lure of self discovery with Bad Boy Troy? I can imagine the whole excitement of the election, the euphoria of winning followed by the horrible let down of the reality of our WA parliament. What a lift back into those thrills and spills his attentions would have been! But what a pity for the Greens and for her career too. To say nothing of all the collateral damage to
anyone else unlucky enough to be more personally related.
