Audreys of the world unite!

I have no idea what that means. [I think I’m channelling Letterman.]

The point of this post, of course, is to register and share my excitement that Adelaide’s favourite, The Audreys have a new album out, When the Flood Comes. Available now.

And, OMG, Taasha is nekkid on the internets! Take that, lipsniger!

(Ps. Vid is SFW I think, unless shoulders and backs offend.)

Doesn’t anyone else love The Audreys?

Sorry, Kim, YouTube is blocked here at work, nekkid shoulders or not :)

Awww, that’s a pity, Rob. It’s a really good song, nekkid shoulders aside.

    These guys are great.

Saw them at Woodford (3 times ) last year. Awesome!

I’m sentimental about the Audreys because I saw half of them — Taasha and Tristan — way back in the day, setting up and doing a sound check one afternoon in 2004 in the by-then-deserted restaurant of my first-ever boyfriend’s pub in the Adelaide Hills, where they were singing for their drinks and dinner on Thursday nights. They did a handful of bars of a handful of songs and they were fantastic then, just the two of them mucking around. We had a bit of a chat about the beautiful little toy-store instruments Taasha plays. She really is gorgeous, and sweet and smart as well.

That sounds really cool, Dr Cat - was it an acoustic gig?

Oh yes — apart from anything else they were just starting out, so their gear was very basic. Still, because of the violin and the little toy squeezeboxes and so on, they already had that signature sound.

    Leave the job, Robert.
Or tell them that they are making like Communist China, man!
    And see what happens next.

I mixed these guys at the Wesley Anne a couple of years back. They were so sweet and lovely, even though I was called in as an emergency, turned up drunk and didn’t do a terribly good job. Fortunately they play so well together I didn’t need to.

Anyway, I developed a bit of a crush and this vid isn’t helping!

    I’ve got a crush too!

    For the crushed: more.

Low quality visual but you get the picture, and the sound is fine.

    Thanks!
