A remedy for internet unreality

Matt Harding is, and the people around the world who want to dance with him are, very real. I first posted about him at Hoyden a few weeks ago (after being alerted to the vid linked on Boing Boing) and he’s since been picked up by the mainstream media - even morning breakfast shows on telly (scroll forward to 3:19 if you’ve already seen the vid) and NASA’s Astronomy Picture Of the Day (check out the annotation)) - but if anyone here has missed it, you really should see this:

Where the Hell is Matt? (2008) from Matthew Harding on Vimeo.
(better seen in HD and a larger size on wherethehellismatt.com)

This is my current mind-refresher/grounding interval vid. It never fails to make me smile, and I often need to do that while pondering To Publish, or not To Publish. (Sadly, this epiphany did not arrive until about 5pm today)

If my smile cannot be budged by memories of the antagonists of yore, I hit Delete. After all, I’m sure that most of them wouldn’t mind joining Matt Harding in a goofy dance if the chance arose, so perhaps there is a better way. However, if after I’ve watched that, I still want to post that antagonistic comment/post sitting in the drafts folder, I hit Submit/Publish with a sense of vindication. I recommend this Matt Harding Dances Filter to the blogosphere at large. Either that or Cute Overload.

What other Warm Fuzzies online do other people use to waft them away from the dregs and drudge of daily blogging?

(Note: This is a Warm Fuzzy thread. Comments which seek to contine stoushes in other threads are off-topic for this thread and will be deleted. Oblique references to stoushing in the general, philosophical way are fine.)

I like the two talking cats video on youtube and watch it, erm, quite regularly. One of the cats has taken to sleeping in a corner of my desk at home & when I’m working there he likes to watch it too http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z3U0udLH974

Shameless self promotion - come visit on those occasions when you may still want to think about politics, just not too seriously…

Or better yet - send us one :-)

If you have a spare hour and want to watch a really inspirational lecture,
Randy Pausch’s “Last Lecture” is just amazing. He died yesterday, though the lecture was recorded last year.
