WA election: latest polls

The Poll Bludger has a comprehensive post on what’s happening in the WA state election. The polls are showing it might be a close run race, with a 51-49 result from Newspoll and basically a dead heat in Westpoll (albeit from a 400 strong sample). There’s also lots of electorate level polling to read about.

In the light of the Liberals embarrassing themselves every day of the week people may assume a win for the ALP and no doubt partially discount these polls.

It will depend on if there has been a change in the wind and, people are not being influenced by individual events but feel the need to change regardless.

All that has to happen then is the opposition not be unelectable. So how keen are people to just get rid of the current government?

According to Today’s Dead Tree West, The Greens have decided to give their preferences to Labor, in light of Colin Barnett’s decison to allow Uranium Mining.

The Liberals are justing waiting for the Olympics to end before they announce their next Incredible Comedic Fuckup and Self-Sabotage. Either they’ll all remember why they hate Baranett so much, or the new shadow Treasurer, Mr Buswell, will start to miss the limelight and come up with something new.

And the so-called “Independent” Nationals have shown their true colours of despite no forming a formal coalition with the Libs, they’ll preference them anyway.
