Domain issues

We’re experiencing some problems with our domain at the moment and some interruption in service might be experienced! Steps have been taken and things are in hand etc! So hopefully all will be back to normal shortly!

Update: The problem was that the domain registration was still with our old host, and the renewal reminders were missed (probably because of an overactive spam filter!). The domain name has been duly renewed now, and things should be back to normal soon (if they aren’t already!)…

    Mark,
I am not seeing any problems. I hope it has been sorted.

Oddly, Andrew, either the problems are intermittent or they only affect some people! Anyway, looks like it’s being worked out! Thanks!

It’s Thursday morning and my personal web browser is directing me to ‘Domain Renewal’ sites (I’m currently not on my home PC).
Mark, I think you and the LP general HQ should go over your security arrangements, because both of the domain traders I’ve been sent to are legit, neither M_______t nor N____n anti-phishing software register them as scams (FWIW).
Even if you’re no longer on the market it’s entirely possible that there are bad people out there taking notes and waiting to legally buy your domain name if this ever happens again.
There are RWDBs who’d love nothing better than to boast of having performed the equivalent of a non-criminal hack on their opponents.

    Point taken, nickws, and thanks.

Nice work on the exclamation marks!

Saw the mysterious notice last night (Wed. 10th) at home but not this morning (11th) at work. At first I suspected virus/spammers. Good luck, Mark.

Squatters actually have scripts that do this automatically.

@6 – I’m a big fan of punctuation! For emphasis!

They don’t call him exclamation Mark, but if they did, it wouldn’t be for nothing.

    Mark,
I had the problem last night, but I got around it by clicking on a recent post on Howard’s Back, and got onto LP that way.
The preoblem appears to have been fixed.

Yep, Paul, the domain’s been renewed.

    @10 – 1111!!!!!!!!!!

Sam and I began a chat over at Larvatus Prodeo in exile. Maybe if things remain dodgy, as they have on my ‘puter, updates on the progress of the great domain criis of ’08 could be posted over there…..

If you clear your cache, joe2, it should all be good.

    Hi Mark,

just to let you know I didn’t access to it until last night. I just kept getting sent to a domanin renewal site.

  19. Mark

Fine, I think that’s because of cache issues. Was happening to me too. Had to keep clearing my cache and restarting my browser. Annoying!
