Yesterday saw simultaneous LP Christmas drinks in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
We Quincelanders had an extremely pleasant and appropriately festive afternoon at Hotel Bravo in the Valley, I thought…
It is of course an internetty tradition to post a thread for post-grogblog reflections, so here it is. Perhaps some of the Sydney and Melbs folk will be along to update.

Ps: I’m not trying to be narcissistic by just posting photos of myself! Just that I didn’t seek others’ permission for the photos to go on the blog, so the Brisbane pics won’t be posted here.

Simultaneous drinkings sounds like a very effective, proactive and practical way to combat soaring national rates of sobriety. Well done chaps.
Sorry didn’t make it. I wasn’t good company yesterday. The weather really cheesed me off.
A small but convivial gathering in Melbourne, with five of us in total.
Inevitably, discussion turned to politics, and the likely electoral effets of the weak-as ETS.
Also a general view that the Alderman is a nice venue
Well I thought the shouting of drinks was as good a way to spend my economic stimulus bonus as any. I still do.
You might think it unlikely that Woomera, that patch of remote inland desert, and Oberon class submarines could be engineered into the one conversation, but they were.
Phurt, I didn’t even have to go to agree with that.
(Sorry, tricky time to make.)
Apologies for not making it. I had to go relatively far for an afternoon do and the times and distances just didn’t stack up. Now that’s two blogmeets I’ve missed due to the social whirl of the silly season. Next time!
I’m very disappointed. Where’s all the anecdotes about the stuff Mark did after he got smashed and doesn’t remember. And where’s the pictures?
Left the joint at about 6.30pm, Adrien. You’re years out of date, dude!
No you are lying.
.
We know you were still there at 3am with your pink bits on display singing rude songs about the Queen. You’ve just censored it and sent all the witnesses to Siberia. Commie!
Surprising as it may seem, some people learn moderation as they go on through life. Or an alternative hypothesis might be that they learn to keep hijinks behind closed doors!

Egad! Never!!!
How did that get in moderation. Is ‘egad’ a bad word?
I s’pose it is.
Nope, moderation is a bad word. Often used by people whining about comments being in moderation!
