Visited Mount Cloude gardens in the Dandenong Ranges on this warm, sunny day. Good value.

Saw the Blackeyed Susans album launch on Friday at the Vanguard. The sound was a bit shitty but with the Ukeladies as backup singers they could do Mary Mac and Memories. If you don’t have any Blackeyed Susans music, do yourself a favour and buy the box set.

Continued reading Menzies’ memoirs (bought for $1.00, along with a desk that still loves Greg Russell 34 years after we finished Grade Five) at a fundraising sale at East Brisbane State School last weekend. They’re trying to raise funds for a pool heater after the footy club next door removed the heater from the school’s 25-metre pool).

Reading Menzies, I can’t help thinking that he wouldn’t be welcome in today’s Liberal Party.

Been following the Fort Hood matter as closely as I can.Yesterday I came across something in a post to Alex Jones suggesting a Bush treasure somewhere on the Fort and the Bush’s have been told no more secret lucre for you.Won’t name.I thought it may show up today in some other form, but if the Bush’s appear ashen faced and pockets empty or some very strange behaviour from them, chances are a percentile truth was there.I did tend to reverse a couple of names today,Munley and Todd, for example, but it is anyones’ guess if it means anything.Luck would have it that chewing gum stuck on somebody’s boot which weren’t standard military!

Spent a lot of the weekend reading and taking notes from various books about the Battle of Bunker Hill. Saturday Normal night TV.
Sunday, ditto. Why do I watch Insiders on ABC 1? I know its just going to annoy me. Online. Had a bubble-bath instead of a shower. Crashed out for a few hours. (Might have had something to do with the several (smallish) glasses of port I had in the bath. Or the packet of Chocolate Royales.) Various e-mails about renewing Socialist Alliance membership, which I should’ve done last pension day.
Did a bit more reading of Richard M. ketchum’s Decisive Day. The Battle of Bunker Hill, + a little bit of note taking. Am getting capacious notes for this next chapter, and that’s just the secondary sources. Have hardly started on the primary sources yet, but I wanted to have some background before I got into them. Expecting a couple in the mail and more to order.
Sunday night TV. Enjoyed doco on Darwin. Loved My House in Umbria, which I wasn’t going to watch. Really glad I did now. Watched a bit of the Andrew Ollie lecture, got bored with it, so went on line to have some fun on LP.

    PB @ 5:

I gave up on “The Insiders” the day Bolt declared John Howard to be the President of Australia and no other highly-paid panellist on the show questioned or corrected him. Then again, maybe my expectations are too high.

By the way, does anyone want a telly? I pensioned mine off six months ago when I realised that the screensaver on my computer accompanied by music is more interesting and entertaining than almost any show currently being broadcast.

Failed to finish the Stratford to Dargo classic. Note to self – if you think you’re going too hard too early, you’re probably right…
