Might I just add that I find it passing strange that the media are ignoring the elephants in the election room that are dropping big piles of smelly Coalition dung.
Why no sensorious reporting of the Abbott Travel Rorts story? Why no focus on the fact that the Coalition keep getting away with fobbing off the requests to submit their policies for costing by Finance/Treasury? Why no blowtorch to the belly of Abbott over Coalition policies?
I know I’m biased, but I just can’t see the fairness.
BTW, I believe in the Easter Bunny, too. :)

I’m going to have a post on the performance of the media up sometime this weekend.

Tigtog at Hoyden on how Labor and Julia Gillard can turn their fortunes around.

Don’t blame the media HS, why isn’t Julia and every other member of the Labor team absolutely hammering TA about these things?

Abbott is a head kicker, Julia has to fight fire with fire and stop pussyfooting around pretending to be something she is not.

    Get stuck in girl. Grrrrrrr…

jk, watch the footage on the ‘Julia Gillard fights back…’ thread. It will cheer you up.

I watched the entirety of that press conference this arvo.

And it was good to see. Despite the fact that the questions from the media pack were a policy free zone, JG got her message across forcefully in each answer, ensuring that whatever grab was shown on the news tonight would see her feisty and on the attack against Abbott. It really sharpened up the theme that we have a serious choice to make.

It was a very good performance, and on the front foot, from the PM.

    It definitely cheered me up!

It was also instructive (if typically depressing) to watch the studio commentary (“analysis”) afterwards on ABC News 24. A journo interviewing another journo, and just talking polls and leaks.

Hmmm. Not much of it on SBS News, which I reckon is the worst of them all when it comes to framing everything in an anti-Labor fashion.

A n excerpt from my latest post @ http://mishaloula.blogspot.com/ reads:

Every word is scripted within an inch of its life by a team of professional writers; its called evasive language, and as such nobody has the slightest idea what any of it actually means. Truth be told, I doubt even Dan Brown of Da Vinci Code fame could decode the verbal spin and rhetoric spewing forth from these politicians mouths, and if he tried he’d probably nod off or gouge his own eyes out in the process.

misha said that we should check out her blogspot …

I didn’t find the piece to which you referred, but I did see a link to an “open letter to Malcolm Tunball”.

Amusing, though Turdball would have been funnier. I suppose you only thought of that later.

Did you send it to him? Did he respond?

It looks like Anthony Albanese is really putting up a fight in Grayndler. He and about a good half dozen members had a small shopping area covered yesterday. In conversation with two men, one older and one younger, the younger was less inclined to preference ecological issues while the older, a grandfather by my guess, was clearly more interested and more theoretically alert to the current issues as well as comforatble with issues of class.
