This week’s whimsy is brought to you by a classic moment from the BBC’s Last Chance To See, where rescued orphan chimpanzee youngsters meet up with adult chimpanzees for the first time since they were taken by poachers.
Stephen Fry had to watch from the perimeter fence rather than enter the chimp’s compound because he had a cold that could have infected them.
Please share any bits and pieces you have come across recently that have surprised, delighted, intrigued or otherwise positively engaged you.
NB: the weekly whimsy thread is a stoush-free zone

Remarkable. The older chimps are females? Do males accept the young, in a similar situation?
Whatever, it’s a once in a lifetime moment to watch.
Joy of joy! Moments to treasure in this world of unremitting divisions and bitter recriminations.
I commend New Matilda, with the rather acute Fiona Katauskas cartoon, “Aftermath”, 14/7, celebrating if that’s the word, aspects of the Carbon Tax antic. I ought to link it up, but in the meantime if you toddle over to NM, there’s another snack for the soul, if you respond to these things like me.

Now, now – try and keep the stoushbait to a minimum on the whimsy threads, please.
