All reactionaries are oppressors, and they enjoy it.

Its that “something special they have in their lunch boxes”.

Blog lists continued – who is the sexiest woman wearing glasses?

In other news, SM returns to the blogosphere.

Rob, if you’re reading, I watched “Curse of the Cat People” the other night but wasn’t as impressed as I was with the first movie.

OK, Kimberella, give us your pick. Though I think with your more catholic [as opposed to Catholic] perspective on sexual preference, you should pick a spectacled bloke as well.

Crikey Kim, I thought lesbian SM would be a lot more interesting than that. :(

Jason – She’s got the perky blonde thing happening!

    Ok, Fyodor.

Girls – Thora Birch in Ghostworld.
Boys – Clark Kent in the old superman comic series!

    EP, yeah, I’m disappointed too!

    Was I a thread-killer?

Or are there just so few sexy people with glasses – or do they all wear contacts?

Ok – here’s another discussion starter.

Why do so many lesbian couples entail one thin and one larger woman?

I just saw – first time ever – some people marched out (ie politely escorted away) from the Merthyr Bowlsie by the river here at NF. Are $3.20 schooners too tempting?

It depends what you want to do, Nic. Text doesn’t take up much room, so if you’re not doing a photoblog or something like that, it should be enough to get you going — you can always upgrade later if you find it’s getting tight. Plus you can use hosting services like Flickr and Photobucket to cut down on your server space (and bandwidth!). Wordpress is much smaller than Movable Type. If you’re thinking about paying for hosting, make sure you shop around first.

Theres no way she can afford hosting. Its either this space or blogspot. It cant be upgraded afaik as its student space shes just been given.

I’ll have a look when I get time, Nic.

Hottest woman with glasses? It’s got to be Rose Byrne in the Rage in Placid Lake. (She’s pretty damn hot without them, too.)

A thing of beauty is a joy for ever:
Its loveliness increases; it will never
Pass into nothingness; but still will keep
A bower quiet for us, and a sleep
Full of sweet dreams, and health, and quiet breathing.

It’s looking more like katanas at dawn, cousin.
[And no, I can't remember which one of his stupid books has the bit where you get shown your ranking after being killed in cyberspace by Hiro.]
I still contend that the whole ‘deliverator’ bit was literary masturbation and nothing more.
You can even bring the one with the albino-protection imprisoned demon in it.
    See you at 0612.

Snow Crash. How could you forget the novel where the hero/protagonist is called Hiro Protagonist?

0612 it is. I warn you, cher cousin: this time I will be using the Von Ziethen defence, so you’d best brush up your Frazelli. I want to avoid the kind of messy debacle we endured last time.

    Ahh, last time…

    Harry: Why are you laughing?
Fyodor: Because I am not left-handed either.
    Harry: …Yes you are.
Fyodor: …bugger. Shall we start again?
Harry: Ok, but I want a cup of tea first.

Ahh, that’s right: Snow Crash. Of course I remember how it starts off like a soaring warplane and then crashes.

Oh, I give up. I couldn’t think of anything that even masqueraded as a non-offensive reply.

You and your cups of tea. I’m sure they’re not regulation, you know. You’re just stalling for time.

You’re maligning Stephenson’s endings again, without realising that there’s certain Zen asymmetry to his writing: the journey’s more important than the ending. What I find most disappointing about his books is not the WAY they end, but the fact that they DO.

I’ve never claimed to be a gentle man, and chaps who shoot their flatmates would have a weaker claim, I’d wager. At least if I shot my flatmate, I’d do him the courtesy of accuracy.

Touche. I’ll applaud your effort…when you finish it.

“Why do so many lesbian couples entail one thin and one larger woman?”

OK, I’ll bite. However, the only lesbians I know are in couplets with similar body types: Lipstick Lesbians or Sensible Shoe Sistas. Still, the stereotype seems accurate. I’ve always put it down to the Laurel & Hardy/opposites attract vibe. Maybe it’s because someone has to take out the garbage and do the heavy lifting?

I don’t doubt it. However, I place more weight on spontaneity. I tell you what. You shoot your flatmate. Then I’ll shoot him. Then you shoot my housemate. We will then compare notes and ascertain which system to be the better. I’m sure we’ll have plenty of time: 10-14months I imagine.

Probably an inappropriate to put this but you (collective noun) are likely to have more communication with CL than I.

Can someone explain to him what an RSS feed is and how to turn it on, on his site.

Sometimes its on, sometimes its off, I’d like CL to have it on so I actually read his site and don’t have to trek all over the web all the time (meaning I don’t usally read it for that reason).

    Thank you.
