West of Roma, Sometime in the 60s

Just setting the scene.

Courtesy of my friend Liz and her theatre contacts, I’m back tonight from the dress rehearsal of Long Gone Lonesome Cowgirls at La Boite Theatre.

Proving that the personal is the political, that the political is very human, and that bulldozing and digging up stuff had a bright future in 60s Queensland, this two woman play (+ three person country band without the .alt) is a must see.

Season starts Friday.

I’m so there. Sounds great! Patsy Cline and Queensland – what could come of that conjuncture!

    You’ll love it!

Contrary to what my link may imply, Amanda isn’t the band but I thought she might appreciate that I’m getting into country without the .altness… :)

Ooh, does sound fab. You will thank me, Mark. Everybody needs less whine, and more twang.

You’d love it too, Amanda. Those two women have cause to whine, but don’t – they sing! The song about divorce is a scream.

I’m getting into the Patsy Cline goodness with my Deborah Conway cd!
