The culture wars get crazier. Want Bill O’Reilly to editorialise about you? Put up a video on YouTube.
Let’s reconstruct the sequence of events.
1. A band puts up their album on the net for folks to download.
2. The band have been listening to Bill O’Reilly warn on Oprah about TEH EVILS OF THE INTERNETS, RAP MUSIC AND VIDEO GAMES and their capacity to inspire YOUTH VIOLENCE.
3. The band puts up a promo video on YouTube, featuring the coolest eight year old in the world (played by a child actor).
4. Bill O’Reilly responds on Fox and goes nuts and does a segment warning that “the rise of machines throughout the world has the potential for great good… and terrible evil”. The great evil is the band’s video. He apparently totally misses the fact that the video was produced professionally and the child actor was supervised. Oh and the satire too. Watch over the fold.
That is the coolest eight year old in the world. Just sayin…

I’ve passed my download limit for the month (finding several series of Stargate on Peekvid certainly didn’t help) so I can’t watch any hi-speed content for a few days. What, exactly, is peeving Bill about this video?

I’ve never been a fan of FOX news, believing it to be an incredibly biased vechicle for Murdochs self interests. Shows another side.
Accepting your accuracy of the lead into the fox interview, its interesting to see the effectiveness of the edit room, the balancing portion (if thats possible) is left on the floor. I strongly suspect Wendy, the child advocate hasn’t seen the full version and fairly hits out, particulary at the childs parents. Cunningly through this, Bill keeps the emotional energy high. He must have a axe to grind
Wouldn’t it be nice to have your own TV news station, allowing whatever appeases your own self interest, to have the power to alter present actions, to report it as you want, as you see fit, to rewrite history, knowing the target audience is gullible.
I bet that child’s parents say “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas” too.
Obviously child services need to remove her right now!

Is being forced to watch Bill O’Reilly emotional abuse?
I just want to say that “child advocate” is simply code for “interfering busybody”.
Oh yeah, the busybody also says (paraphrased by News Hound): “as a mother, she would make sure that the child is ostracized and the word is spread throughout the community so that the family would be shamed and stigmatized” — so isn’t ostracizing a child becuase of her parent’s political opinions, in fact isn’t this the actual child abuse?! They advocate child abuse as a protection from an imagined child abuse! These people are monsters.
Wow. “The ultimate inhumane treatment of a child”. Thats quite a call.
