No word as to whether our heroine was responsible

Via Zarquon in comments on the Saturday Salon thread, Milosevic has been staked:

Serbian vampire hunters have acted to prevent the very remote possibility that former dictator Slobodan Milosevic might stage a come-back – by driving a three-foot stake through his heart.

According to Ananova, the politically-motivated Van Helsings, led by Miroslav Milosevic (no relation), gave themselves up to cops after attacking the deceased despot in his grave in the eastern town of Pozarevac. Milosevic popped his clogs back in 2006, while on trial in a UN war crimes tribunal for various unsavoury activities connected with the disintegration of the former Yugoslavia.

Miroslav Milosevic said “he and his fellow vampire hunters acted to stop the former dictator returning from the dead to haunt the country”. His team explained that the wooden stake had been “driven into the ground and through the late president’s heart”.

If Milosevic was a vampire, what evil creatures have invaded or devoured the souls of Western political leaders? Speculate away…

Pssht, time was, when any decent despot was buried clandestinely, with all of the burial workers and ceremonists murdered to keep secret the gold, treasure, and brewed yak-milk-based offerings. You think Chinggis Khan’s ever been staked or looted? I think not. You want something done properly, ask a Mongolian. Modern Serbs, I mean really; these days they couldn’t organise a punch-up between thirteen year-olds at a Bonnyrigg White Eagles match. Not even on a day when the flags came out.
On great-political tedium, don’t look at me. Life’s been pretty fucking boring since Hawkey stumbled back on the wagon and Boris Nicolayevich gave way to that miserable office-boy Putin. George Dubya’s being pretty efficient in the sanctimonious teetotalling way, and Tony’s just busy with Cherie looking after their little ranch of mini-managerialists.
I’m working on the Jews and the Muslims with some success and limited acceptance, but from my point of view the hope of the world lies with the South Americans.
¡Que viva Cuba Libre! ¡Abajo con Fidel! And a few more rum-and-cokes all around, right, harry?
    Right. Viva, viva, la revolución.

John Howard, Margaret Thatcher, George Bush, Slobo, Tony Blair – they’re all here! It’s shocking! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fjmFLx9bGeI&mode=related&search=

Personally, I think this provides a very plausible explanation for why the Liberal Party is in its current state.

They are all reptilians I tells you.

Notable Reptilians: George Bush Sr., George Bush Jr., Richard Cheney, Al Gore, Colin Powell, Queen Elizabeth and all 4 sons including Prince Charles and Prince Andrew

Mojitos please, Devil Drink, when in Cuba.

White rum (NOT Bacardi), sugar, mint and lime….

Kevvy is a Crab Person. Vampires and Reptilians sleep during daylight, Crab People require immersion in brine. That’s why he was raised so close to the banks of a tidal river in Eumundi, Queensland. His family’s former landlord, an upright, god fearing man was not fooled. He cast Kevvy from his pot and plot at a time when Reptilians and Vampires were ascendant, compelling him to roam and gnash his pincers all the way to Brisbane, Cathay, then on to the murky waters of our nation’s capital where Mud Crabs rule.

Like Lararus (a dead-set Vampire) with a triple bypass, perhaps the times will suit a Crab Man. Today’s polls seem to agree. I can feel a “Buffy Down Under” comin’ on, later this year.

Make it with Bacardi if you like, Grace, I say, hell, make it with Captain Morgan or even Bundy if you need to. It’s the effect that counts.
Speaking of devils and possession, the more I read, the more I’m getting to like George Bush:

Bush visited this country, the home of Genghis Khan, on his way home from a week-long trip to Asia to thank the government here for maintaining a military contingent of about 130 men in Iraq. He became the first American president to visit Mongolia — and probably the first to drink fermented mare’s milk in a felt tent guarded by the latter-day Golden Horde and a herd of camels and yaks.
“Really special,” the president said after examining the yaks. “Really special.”

The fermented mare’s milk he drank is called Airag and it’s the national Mongolian drink, which is supposed to taste like bready yoghurt and is about as alcoholic as light beer. Many Mongolians drink it with every meal, and in between.
Keep the Pledge in DC, but get it on with horse-milk booze on holiday: what’s not to like about that kind of reformed drinker?

Philip Ruddock is undoubtedly a ghoul.

Also March 10 was the 10th Buffyversary in the US. (Thanks to Making Light for that info.)

Now that Captain America is dead, Marvel Comics need a new character – a sort of super-anti-hero.
“He was a mild mannered suburban solicitor. His only concerns conveyancing and trimming his hedges and his eyebrows. Little was he to know that his cardigan had been struck, whilst drying on the Hills Hoist, by a tiny FRAGMENT OF AN ALIEN SPACSHIP. Putting it on he was transformed into a being of unspeakable evil and unlimited craftiness, consumed by a lust for power: WEDGE MAN!”

I was wondering when I’d get an excuse to post these two points reflecting on Buffyversary the 10th.

Misha at Hippo Dignity gives us massive Buffy wonkery, and Kate at Moment to Moment mentions the Buffyversary briefly, remembering watching the first episode as an exchange student living with a family that Joss Whedon really should have written into the series.
