I hope the picture comes through: especially for Mark, it’s FDR waiting for a piece of birthday cake!

I’ll leave others to comment on the blog, and just focus on important stuff.

What’s with your change of gravatar, Kimberella, and what is it? I was rather fond of CL’s (excellent) portrait of you.

  4. The Devil Drink

Yeah, happy birthday. Just the occasion to start the St. Patrick’s Day binge a day early.

  5. Brian

Yes, Kim, I thought you old gravatar was the best in the ‘sphere!

I’m still looking and haven’t yet found anything half as good.

Happy birthday, LP, and congrats! Hope there’s many, many more years of larvyprod to come, this is a great stable of bloggers. :D

Happy Birthday LP! Love your work!

    And here’s your present…

    Santoro offers resignation

Don’t drink it all at once.
    Cheers, Fred

My 22 month old behaves better than most of the bloggers and commenters on this site – example Gummo Trotsky’s comment about Zimbabwe in post above.

Two years old and behaving like a badly behaved one at that.

I just felt like a change. The pic is of a pirate queen! The resolution doesn’t do it much justice.

I’ve only got into LP in the last six months, but I have to say, its become a daily fix of intelligent conversation and political analysis, and I loooooove it. :) Happy b’day LP!

Fairenoughski, Kimskaya: change, holiday, yadda yadda.

However, I hope you’ll forgive me when I note that your unjustly resolved regina piratarum looks a bit more like a gollywog wearing a corset [NTTAWWT].

  14. Pavlov's Cat

Three-cornered pirate hat, yes? Now I see it. (Unless of course it isn’t.)

So, Razor, are you teaching your 22-month old to turn up at birthday parties and spit in the cake, or are you hoping that s/he will turn out differently from you?

Happy birthday LP! I remember way back when it was all in jokes about Missy Higgins with a fair bit of Latin thrown in for good measure.

I think that what LP needs is more YouTubing (that is if YouTube survives much longer). Will we get Kimberrella the pirate queen driking her daily cup of rum and dissing Noam?

So young and yet so obviously wise.
Congrats on setting such high standards at LP.
It really is an amazing bunch of contributors and commentators that keep this blog so lively, funny and happily ‘un-Australian’, while it still needs to be.
    Well done folks.

Happy Birthday LP. Love the brainfood and the badinage. Many happy returns. Onward till the fall of the Houses of Howard and Bush, to the biosphere’s deliverance, and Justice for David Hicks.

  18. Kim

    Three-cornered pirate hat, yes?

    Well spotted, Dr Cat!

    Sorry, couldn’t resist…

    “Where’s the parrot?”
    Kim: “Resting!”

Hey wait, Kim, I could’ve sworn you said you didn’t get that stuff…

  24. Kim

Yeah, I did, Mr Cheeseburger. But that one’s funny!

  25. Alex on the Bus

A slightly belated Happy Birthday to LP and all who sail in her. And yes, Santo “I’m not from The Panel” Santoro’s sacking counts as a bloody good gift.

    kim,
i was wondering about your new gravatar too…..not that mine is anything to write home about – still a lowly marine invertebrate stuck on the same bit of slime.

but anyway… thought you might like this really scary one – for emergency purposes only – http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a136/big_fat_phony/PirateQueen.jpg

    belated birthday wishes LP.
