Normal service…

Here at Larvatus Prodeo, we’re such fanatics about climate change we decided to extend Earth Hour and make it a whole day, so…

Kidding, of course. Yesterday was the last day of March and we apparently exceeded our monthly bandwidth quota (though how that happened is a mystery that’s under investigation). So the blog’s been off the air since late Saturday afternoon. It’s taking awhile to get all functions (such as comments) back up and running smoothly but hopefully the full LP experience will be back with you soon.

    This is a test comment – I think we’ve been fixed, let’s see…

Thanks very much to Ron for his help in fixing the 404 problem!

“Kyoto is a failed mechanism,” he said.

“It’s not just failed because most of the world’s biggest emitters are not part of it, it’s not just failed because it would only reduce greenhouse gas emissions growth by one per cent.

How is Turnbull allowed to repeat this ridiculous lie? Only the US and Australia are not signatories. Kyoto was never designed as a panacea but a first step. C’mon Garrett, pick up your game.

    LP:
Welcome back ….. so you hadn’t breached Australia’s new Pro-Terrorism Laws after all …..

    dk.au, you asked

How is Turnbull allowed to repeat this ridiculous lie?

Because he will be our Prime Minister after Easter and that skill is one of the Key Selection Criteria for the position ….

Wow, not the 404 problem. Room 101 was bad enough. Ron has just about experienced everything.

Gee, Graham Bell are they going to crucify John Howard this Easter as well? Must buy more buns.

Did you pick up Turnbull’s other lie directly after that? He claimed that Kyoto is also fatally flawed because it doesn’t include landclearing and forestry – absolute unmitigated cr*p. Of course it does. There’s a huge area of Kyoto policy called LULCF – land use, land clearing and forestry.

Either he’s utterly ignorant of his own portfolio or he is such an accomplished liar that he is indeed destined for the PM’ship.

Oh, and welcome back! It was a grim period without you ;-)

    Said Malcom Turnbull:

“I think religion is a very poor guide to public policy.”

Amen to that. But what would Turnbull’s cabinet colleague Tony Abbott say?

I’m surprised you ran out of bandwidth. What’s your monthly quota?

  11. Shaun

Actually, it was all an April Fools joke.
