Idea for Christmas present:

Oi! Adelaide is a complicated mistress, but a hole she ain’t. She may not have the flashy lights of other cities, but she keeps me warm at night.

Friends of ours are moving to Brisvegas in the new year. They will be renting and are looking for a house, 3-4 bedrooms, nice area, close to primary schools and the city. What suburbs would Brisbanites recommend they look in?
I’m with nic and also Audrey – the pics make me very homesick, particularly of my beloved uni, and though I also left Madame Adelaide a few years ago, I always find her ample bosom warm and welcoming upon each return.
If moving slower than other cities is the price is pays to maintain its friendliness, cleanliness, beautiful coastline and f$%k-off Shirazes, then so be it.

Mindy, rentals are horrendous in Brisbane at the moment so a good starting point would probably be budget. “Close to the city” is gonna cost really big bucks for a house unfortunately.
I suspect ‘close to the city’ might be dropping off the list then. They can probably go to around $500 per week, since it’s a work thing.
Try somewhere around Buranda/Annerley/Greenslopes – should fit the criteria and about 5ks from the city – houses around $350 a week.
