Stacks on the LP Server

The LP server, already copping a bit of a hiding because of the election, is also dealing with a spam deluge. Admin access is spotty for many of the LP contributors (including me).

As well as the short-term issue, plans are afoot to deal with server issues on a more permanent basis. We’ll keep you posted (assuming that we can actually upload anything).

Just the usual Viagara and porn spam, interleaved with ads for wedding reception halls in Atlanta, Georgia. Doesn’t seem to have anything at all to do with politics.

Not sure if you mean email, comment, or trackback spam, or what server you’re running on, but when my site received massive trackback spam a few months ago (up to a whopping 30GB in incoming data on the worst day), this is what I did. No major dramas since then…

Yeah, it’s pretty stuffed. I’ve contacted our hosts and they’re looking into it.

And poor William Bowe has lost a week’s worth of comments when his site went down last night and there are problems with posts not being numbered, nor pages changing after 100 posts as before.
