As it happened, I bought a cheapo “Women in Jazz” compilation cd last week from Borders which features a song by Melody Gardot – and it’s much more impressive than the Madeline Peyroux stuff, etc. So excellent to hear more about her work, which I’d planned to follow up, and to read about her story!
Seriously cool. And with Charlie Hunter laying down the bass AND Hammond B3 sounds via his guitar.

Having some fun tracking down and listening to some other Melody Gardot tracks on YouTube – will certainly be popping into Rocking Horse to see if they have her cd tomorrow!
