I’ve just fished out from the Spaminator a comment from me on an earlier thread, made when I wasn’t logged in, and two genuine comments into the bargain. That prompts me to remind people that the volume of spam we’re now deluged with is so astronomical that we rarely have time to look for false positives – it’s not unusual to log on and find up to 700 comments tagged as spam. If your comment doesn’t appear, please email us and preferably with the text of the comment – it might be wise to copy and paste your comments if you are having problems. Please remember that repeated posting of identical comments or posting a large number of comments in a row will reinforce the algorithm’s view that you are spam.
Update: I’ve added a page to the sidebar about what to do if your comment goes missing.

Have you thought about trying a CAPTCHA plugin?
I’m not sure what that is, KoopaTroopa. Perhaps you’d be kind enough to enlighten me?
[Ironically, an earlier version of this comment was spaminated before I logged in!]
Mark, there’s Wikipedia’s Genuine Truthiness Approved description. There’s a Wordpress plugin too.
Hundreds of comments appearing between logins? That kinda sounds like some spam operators who have seriously invested in hammering on LP; the kind of operators who giggle as they crash through CAPTCHAs like Mad Max in a truck. There’s currently no unbroken CAPTCHA scheme.
I haven’t had posts appearing for a couple of days. Fired off an email, hopefully will work out.
Oz, yours, I suspect have also been eaten by the spaminator, because I’ve just fished one out. Hopefully that will make some difference, as supposedly it learns from being told there are false positives.
Update: I’ve added a page to the sidebar about what to do if your comment goes missing.
I wonder if the spaminator is perfect…
