    LOL, that’s very Werner Herzog! You just have to see “Grizzly Man” to understand this piece completely. ‘I zee nothzink but haangaur’.

    I reminded myself this evening of Rolcats – http://www.rolcats.com – which are mistranslated (i.e. completely made up) English captions for Russian LOLcats. They are very amusing, and obviously done by someone with a fine sense of Soviet-era fatalistic language.

    #144 “Aaaaah… Pig iron, your musk is that of glorious industry …”

    and

    #136 “Drat, thwarted so close to freedom’s sweet caress… I dreamed for but a taste of the decadent west, and now my eulogy is sung by guard dogs and alarm bells.”

    are among my favorites.
