Admin note: don’t nag the moderators on-blog

No public discussion will be entered into regarding moderation decisions. If readers or commenters have queries about this policy, they may email the site or its contributors.

The information above is not hidden. It is clear to view through multiple links on this blog, including a link right above the commenting box on every single open-to-comments post.

From this point on, anybody who *nags* the bloggers by submitting a whinge about being in moderation longer than they would like will be penalised accordingly. Said *unpaid* bloggers have lives to lead that often involve nobody being logged into the admin area for hours at a time, and do not appreciate and do not deserve being confronted by petulant whining in the moderation queue when they do log in. All comments in moderation are dealt with, one way or the other, as soon as humanly possible.

From now on any nag-comments will be sent straight to the Trash, and that commentor’s preceding comment-pending that they are nagging us about will also be sent to the Trash.

By contrast, friendly/amusing/perspicacious reminders about the occasional inevitability of comments caught up in the mod queue will *not* be penalised in this way, although being friendly/amusing does not necessarily guarantee that one’s comment-pending will be approved if it happens to breach other commenting guidelines.
