Trying to be lazy. Had holidays with autistic son. Almost time for my own holiday I think. Twitter isn’t quite cutting it, but it’s helping a little.

Had a lovely meal at the local footy club ( my sons play for em) to celebrate the start of 2nd sons dream traineeship( 3 years in the making) and ” leaving of home ” MEGA happy for him.

Thanks for quoting the topic line and sticking to the no-politics tone of this thread, jumpy.

Those of you who couldn’t keep politics out of a thread which specifically asks for this? Farewell to 6 of your comments. They should have been submitted to other threads.

P.S. for jumpy: Congrats to your son!

Also, @genevieve, thanks for the reminder on the NDIS.

Not quite Sunday, but went along to see Sherlock Holmes on Saturday. A great romp, and one that is funny enough to amuse adults and action-packed enough for adolescent males. Naomi Rapace from Dragon Tattoo turns in a nice performance, IMO.

I’m a bit new to LP and likewise Lazy Sunday. [snipped by moderator ~tigtog]

@Geoff Henderson, I appreciate that you are new. General netiquette suggests that LURK MOAR when unsure is always the best idea, and read a blog’s About pages and Comments Policy (a link to which is in the yellow box sitting just below the Leave a Reply section on every post).

Thanks Tigtog, He went from ” relaxed, defeatist, happily underachieving butterfly ” to ” determined, focused, happily achieving Bull” overnight it seemed. ( story 4 some other day).

    Proud as punch.

Done and passed it on genevieve.

And on a similar line, we have not heard from Paul Burns for a month. Hope you doing well Buddy all the best and a big hug from me.

My health situation is holding up well at the moment and I feel fighting fit. Went to a friends 50th BD party themed science fiction. Had an absolute ball and danced all night, well … really till 10 pm when I went home blissfully happy and dogtired.

Have not been to a fancy dress party since the 70′s, when they were all the rage if not outrageous. On one particularly memorable one we managed to stop the traffic in down-town Jo’burg. A bunch of us decided to go as a traffic accident. We had the full kit, including IV Drip (Jim Beam), flashlights, stretcher, you name it and we did not spare the ketchup. As we set up on the sidewalk in front of the venue, it was all too real and we literally caused a traffic jam; had to move on bus loads of gawkers and stop people from calling the cops. On the party itself there was, as it happens, a pregnant crossdresser. It did not take long for the mob to put 2 and 2 together and yours truly, as ‘The Doc’, was hard pressed to deliver the baby, since there were confirmed reports of regular contractions and dilation. The hammer and tongs came out , assistants were appointed, op table and lights prepared, the patient got hooked up to the drip, lashes of more ketchup and after much huffing and puffing (between the vigorous oral helpings from the drip) oh joy – a child was born.

It brought the house down, can’t remember much after that ……… sorry.

Tell me they still have parties like that.

Not quite Sundayish, but I sometimes dream entire movies and TV episodes.

The most recent was a lost episode ofSkippy.

The episode which includes a US Presidential escort (a Marines lieutenant, no less, who surreptitiously spiked the non-alcoholic punch at the annual Waratah National Park Ball), a mystery about a missing bushwalker, and 48 bicycling sheep which had been shorn to resemble famous Hollywood actresses of the 1940s.

This almost certainly wins the Internets for today and it’s not even 9 am yet.
